The Hardest Thing about Suggesting DDs

Today, we are going to talk about the hard things about suggesting DDs! For those who are beginner DD Suggesters, you will need various tips and advice to make sure you can truly understand the DD Suggestion process and the hard parts!

Knowing who to suggest to

Reading the CVs Guidelines

  • Every CV has their own guidelines. You need to read them then understand what they look for. But at the same time, you sometimes don't know what they look for as a DD. Some CVs are VERY diverse in what they feature so you wonder...exactly what do you want?       *SOLUTION THOUGH, LOOK AT WHAT THEY'VE FEATURED AS DDS! THAT CAN HELP YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY LOOK FOR!*It looks complicated at first but once you get use to their guidelines, then everything will be ok!

  • ALSO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE 6-MONTH RULE!  The 6-month rule applies to EVERY CV!

How to know if somebody has had a DD from the last 6-months

Finding Deviations to Suggest

So, you are going to look for deviations to suggest. "Oh, let's see um...This one or this one?" The are soo many pictures on dA it seems impossible does it? NO! Here are some useful tips how to find deviations to suggest
  • Suggest some of your favorite artists. They always have some good pictures to suggest. They're are also artists you are inspired by and others can get inspired by it, too! Just remember to see if they haven't received a DD in the last 6-months
  • Use the More Like This. When using the more like this, you can discover amazing artists and pictures you may have never seen. As a DD Suggester, it was useful for me.
  • Use the Undiscovered Beta!
  • Look at other peoples favs.
Once you know what picture you want to suggest, note a CV in via :note:

Which CV do you Suggest this Particular Picture to...

"UH...which one do I suggest this to?"
Now comes the toughest part. Which CV to suggest the deviation to...You need to know who would feature it! Now some categories have 2-5 CVs in that category which makes it tough to know who would feature the picture you want to suggest.
Just keep suggesting those CVs then you will know who to suggest certain pictures to.
  • Some CVs will tell you if they feature it or not which will make it easier however.
  • Also know that some deviants you suggest have different types of pictures in their gallery which also makes it harder.
  • There's also something called MISCATS. Such as a Fanart Picture but's in only in the Digital art or Manga and Anime Category or a Cartoons and Comics in the Anime Category or even and Icon in the Pixel Category. But the CVs can handle Miscats and try to fix it

You see a DD that was feature but by another CV/ or by the CV you suggested to but you weren't feature as a Suggester.

"WHAT!? Didn't the CV get my note?"
That is always frustrating. Trust me I know. It's very disappointing to see a deviation you suggested featured by another CV or by the same CV without your username on it.
  • Understand, CVS GET A LOT OF NOTES :note:. So they can easily forget that you may have suggested that one piece
  • Don't be sad it's not the end of the world. Suggesting is all about having fun you know!
  • Remember, the deviant you suggested also had different categories in their gallery. So other suggesters or other CVs may feature/suggested that picture.

I hope this guide helped you out!
Thank you for reading

question:

what if the artist put wrong category. Example, it should be fanart but it put on manga/anima. Where should we suggest the piece?
